Emmetsburg Airport Receives Funding
Emmetsburg Municipal Airport is one of nine Iowa airports to receive grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration.
Notices were sent out last week by Iowa Senators Charles Grassley and Tom Harkin, advising communities of the grant awards.
Emmetsburg Municipal Airport will receive grant funding of $276,450 for taxiway rehabilitation.
“This funding is to increase the safety and efficiency of these airports, as well as help provide important economic development opportunities in these communities,” Grassley said.
“During these tough economic times, providing funds to our local airports is essential for economic and community development,” said Harkin. “Ensuring our airports are accessible and run smoothly can attract new businesses and individuals to local communities.”
