Airport Receives Grant
Emmetsburg Municipal Airport is one of three Iowa airports to receive grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration.
Emmetsburg will receive a $47,500 grant to help update the airport master plan study for development at Emmetsburg Municipal Airport.
“This funding will help improve safety and service at Iowa’s local airports and help provide important economic development opportunities for the communities,” said Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.
“Having safe and efficient airports is good for travelers and good for business in Iowa,” said Iowa Senator Tom Harkin. “As air travel in Iowa continues to grow, todays funding will make important investments to improve the airports in our state.” Harkin is a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, which funds transportation projects.
