Enter St. Patrick’s Junior Miss Pageant
The 2010 St. Patrick’s Junior Miss Pageant is Sunday, March 14, at 3 p.m. The pageant will be held at Emmetsburg High School Auditorium.
Again this year, the pageant will be divided into three categories:?Little Miss Shamrock (ages 5 to 7), Little Lassie (ages 8 to 11) and Irish Miss (ages 12 to 16). The contest is limited to eight entries in each age group. Contestants entering the Little Miss Shamrock pageant must be five years old by March 14, 2010, no exceptions. One winner will be crowned in each age group.

Entries will be accepted now until 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30. Eight contestants will be drawn from all entries submitted in each category. Should a drawing be necessary, it will be held Monday, Feb. 1, at St. Pat’s Headquarters. Entries drawn will be notified tuesday, Feb. 2. No late entries and no phone call entries will be accepted.
Contestants will be judged in the following areas: pre-pageant interview, talent, overall presentation, and appearance.
Contestants that are chosen as queen will also need to be able to participate in all activities and parades during the summer and throughout the year that are prearranged by the St. Pat’s Association. Some of the parades that St. Pat’s participate in include the Orange City Tulip Festival, Spencer Flagfest, Spirit Lake Mainsail, Bully Bullhead Weekend, Estherville Sweet Corn Days, and Graettinger Labor Day. This is only a partial preview of the parades that the St. Pat’s Association attends. A complete list will be given to the winners in each group. Previous years Junior Pageant winners are not eligible to take part in the competition.
Stop at St. Pat’s Headquarters to pick up an entry form: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Closed Sundays.
