Honor Flight Benefit This Saturday

Advance tickets are now available for the Honor Flight Benefit banquet and auction this Saturday. The benefit will be held at Wild Rose Casino &?Resort, co-hosted by the Wild Rose with VFW Post #2295.

Advance tickets are available by contacting VFW Commander Ron Hersom in Emmetsburg. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of the event.

The doors open at 6 p.m. with the banquet to follow. The event will raise funds to assist veterans who wish to participate in the Iowa Honor Flight program.

Wild Rose will donate half of the banquet proceeds back to the fundraiser. The Wild Rose will also make a $500 cash donation and donate auction items. Silent auction be will be open for bidding at 6 p.m. The live auction will be held after the banquet. There will also be raffles.

Guest speakers include Tony Deramus of Council Bluffs, coordinator for the Iowa Honor Flight program, and Tom Dorsey, coordinator for Honor Flights out of Fort Dodge. Veterans who have participated in an Honor Flight will also speak.

“The Honor Flight is just a great way to honor our men and women,” said Travis Dvorak, casino manager of Wild Rose Casino. “We hope to raise a lot of money for this program to thank the men and women who gave so much.”

Auction items are still being accepted for the live auction. Anyone who has auction items can contact Ron Hersom or Larry Huberty in Emmetsburg. Eberle Auction Service will be donating their services.
