Red Cross To Benefit From “Tip Night”

By Staff | Aug 20, 2009

The American Red Cross and Pizza Ranch Restaurants are teaming up again this year to ensure quality swimming lessons are available at area pools. Through a joint fundraising effort, the Iowa Great Lakes Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Emmetsburg Pizza Ranch Restaurant will join forces for a special fundraiser this coming Monday.

Tip Night is scheduled for Monday, August 24th at the Emmetsburg Pizza Ranch. Lifeguards from the Smith Wellness Center and American Red Cross staff and volunteers will be on hand at the Emmetsburg Pizza Ranch that evening to bus tables and talk about the Red Cross’ Mission. Pizza Ranch customers may leave tips or make donations in the available containers from 5:00pm to7:30pm to benefit the Red Cross.

Since 1914, the American Red Cross has been the leader in swimming lessons and lifeguard training. Helping to continue this tradition, Pizza Ranch Restaurants, are proud to sponsor the annual Swim-A-Cross fund-raiser.

“We are proud to sponsor the American Red Cross in our communities. The Red Cross touches many people each and everyday through training and disaster response. This fundraiser is a great way to support an agency that serves communities in so many ways” stated Gwen Lahrs, Senior Advertising and Marketing Manager for Pizza Ranch.

“We are very grateful to Pizza Ranch for supporting the Red Cross in our mission to provide quality swimming lessons and water safety,” said Bill Campbell, Executive Director for the Iowa Great Lakes Chapter.

Money raised through the Swim-A-Cross program and Pizza Ranch tip nights are shared with local pools and help provide needed funds for American Red Cross services such as emergency military communications, health & safety services, and local disaster relief.
