Ag Energy Day
Kossuth / Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation, along with the Ag Committee and area ag-related businesses, are hosting an Ag Energy Day on Wednesday March 11, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. at the Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. and will include lunch.
The theme for this year’s event is “Ag Energy On to the Next Level”. The event will feature topics on ISU’s Bioeconomy Initiative, Iowa Energy Center’s cutting edge technologies, energy management in grain systems, USDA energy grant programs, and microwave technology as an alternative to traditional drying of distiller grains and other products. Guest speakers include Denny Harding, Business Services Administrator with Iowa Farm Bureau Federation; Norman Olson, Facility Director of Biomass Energy Conversion (BECON) Facility; Jim Sturdevant, Director, POET’s Project Liberty; Mark Kingland, Tech Support Lead Engineer for Alliant Energy; Teresa Bomhoff, Rural Energy Coordinator for USDA Rural Development; Dr. Bruce Wicking, President and CEO of Cellencor Corporation and Dr. Lawrence A. Johnson, Director of Center for Crops Utilization Research at Iowa State University.
Brochures featuring highlights of the event are available at area cooperatives, banks, libraries, implement dealerships, city halls, and ISU Extension Offices in Algona and Emmetsburg. A registration form will be included in the brochure which can be filled out and mailed along with a check made payable to Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation, 106 S.
