Amy Frields Is New Family Practice Clinic Provider

The physicians and staff at Palo Alto County Health System welcome Amy Frields, ARNP, to the Family Practice Clinic in Emmetsburg. Amy specializes in family health and wellness, with special interests in emergency care, women’s health, breast feeding education, and pediatrics and teen wellness.

Amy is not new to PACHS. Before completing her Advance Nurse Practitioner Degree, Amy was employed at Palo Alto County Hospital as an Obstetrics, Labor, Delivery, and Newborn Nursery nurse. She also was employed as the Director of Nursing at Emmetsburg Care Center for five years. Recently, Amy has worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa in the Emergency Room.

Amy received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Iowa Lakes Community College and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing with Honors from University of Iowa. She received her Masters Degree in Nursing/Family Practitioner Degree from Clarkson College in Omaha, NE. Amy completed clinical training with Daunyale Sporaa, DO, Jennifer Boevers, DO, and Jamie Hicks, ARNP at Family Practice Clinic in Emmetsburg and Joel Gordon, MD at Immanuel St. Joseph-Northridge Clinic in Mankato, MN.

Amy will see patients at the Family Practice Clinic in Emmetsburg and in the Emergency Room at Palo Alto County Hospital.

Commenting on her new position, Amy said, “It is rewarding to care for the families and children that I have had the privilege of getting to know when I worked at PACHS as an OB nurse. It is especially fun for me to see the babies that I cared for as they grow and change.”

Amy lives with her husband, Kerry a grain merchandiser for AGP, and their four children, Amanda, Austin, Jacob and Jenna. She is a member of the Palo Alto County Community Health Advisory Board and a member of Sigma Theta Tau, a nursing honor society. Amy enjoys golfing, traveling and spending her time with family.
