Kibbie Looks Forward To Productive Work In Committees

By Staff | Dec 11, 2008

State Senate President Jack Kibbie (Emmetsburg) will serve on several Iowa Senate committees during the next session. Most bills passed by the Senate must first pass through the committee process.

“I’m eager to work with members of both parties and with Governor Chet Culver to make real progress on the challenges facing Iowa’s working families,” said Kibbie. “On all my committees, I will support open, public discussion of issues. That’s the best way to write legislation to improve our economy, education and quality of life. All and all, I think my committee assignments are good news for the people and interests of Senate District 4.”

Senator Kibbie is Senate President, vice-chair of the State Government and Rules & Administration committees and co-chair of the Ethics Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture, Administrative Rules Review, and Veterans Affairs committees.

The 83rd General Assembly of the Iowa Legislature will convene on Monday, Jan.12.

“I’m preparing for the upcoming session by meeting with and listening to as many people as I can,” Kibbie said. “I encourage constituents with ideas and concerns to share their ideas with me.”
