West Palo Alto Community Fund Drive Underway
The 49th West Palo Alto Community Fund Drive began Saturday, Nov. 1, and continue through Saturday, Nov. 15.
This annual fund drive gives the community the opportunity to help one or more of the 17 local, state and national health and welfare programs. In 2007, over $5000 was raised. The group hopes to have another successful campaign.
Monies raised has gone to: Heart, Cancer, Alzheimer’s Parkinson, Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis and Arthritis Associations for research, plus to the Ayrshire Dinner Date, Ruthven Social Center and the Ruthven Community Care Center. Other organizations are CAASA, Seasons Center, the Salvation Army, Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Palo Alto County Hospital Auxiliary, and Horizons Unlimited of Palo Alto County.
Officers of West Palo Alto are: Linda Heiman, president; Winona Loomis, secretary; and Pat Henningsen, treasurer.
Community members are asked to give generously when their envelope arrives in the mail.
