Absentee Ballots Available For General Election
The firt day to vote absentee for the General Election is Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Palo Alto County Auditor’s Office. Ballots can be cast Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. General Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Voters may request an absentee ballot by mail by completing the “State of Iowa Official Absentee Ballot Request Form.” The form can be found on the Secretary of State website www.sos.state.ia.us or by calling the Palo Alto County Auditor’s Office at 712-852-2924.
The last day to pre-register for the General Election is Saturday, Oct. 25. The Auditor’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for registration and absentee voting.
Anyone who has a change of address, or anyone who has recently moved into Palo Alto County, is asked to complete a voter registration form. The form should be mailed to the Palo Alto County Auditor’s Office, P.O. Box 95, Emmetsburg, IA 50536. Voter registration forms are available at www.sos.state.ua.us or by calling the Palo Alto County Auditor’s Office.
The Auditor’s Office will be open Saturday, Nov. 1, for absentee voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
