Open House At 100-Year-Old County Jail

By Staff | Sep 16, 2008

Palo Alto County Jail is 100 years old this year, according to Sheriff Dennis Goeders.

“We have worked hard to maintain the facility. We have just completed a remodel of the booking room and the jail facility has been completely repainted,” said Goeders. “We are hosting an open house for the public to view our facility.”

The public is invited to tour the 100-year-old jail on Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 9 to 11 a.m. Stop by the Sheriff’s Office for coffee and cookies.

The new K-9, “Rakker,” and handler Deputy Eric Ring will attend the open house.

“We at the Sheriff’s Office are looking forward to seeing you at our Open House on Sept. 30th,” said Sheriff Goeders.
