Community Bankers Of Iowa Selects Local Banker As President

Community Bankers of Iowa selected local banker Kris Ausborn as its President at their annual convention in Okoboji last week.

Ausborn is the President & CEO of Iowa Trust & Savings Bank in Emmetsburg. He has been on the CBI board of directors since 2002, served as treasurer in 2006-2007 and will serve as president until the annual meeting in July 2009.

Ausborn continues the bank’s tradition in industry involvement and leadership. John F. Spies of Emmetsburg was a founding member of the association in 1972 and Gary Hughes served on the board of directors of Iowa Independent Bankers, the predecessor of Community Bankers of Iowa.

Ausborn has been in banking for 29 years and is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, WI. He is also a Certified Community Lender. Ausborn is active in the Emmetsburg area and currently serves as President of the Emmetsburg Community Development Corporation and the Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation. He is a trustee on the Palo Alto County Health Systems and past president and board member of the Emmetsburg Community School Board and the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce.

His wife Janet is an accountant with Burdorf, Parrott & Associates CPAs, Emmetsburg. Their son Tom is Credit Analyst with Bank of Montreal – Capital Markets, Chicago, IL and son Mark is a senior in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Their daughter Julie is in her second Year in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Drake University, Des Moines.
