By Staff | Jun 5, 2008

WEST BEND — The 9th Annual Gospel Songfest is Sunday, June 8, in West Bend.

“You will not find a more relaxing, entertaining, family-style atmosphere event between the mighty Mississippi or the Missouri rivers,” says Mike Scott, Grotto Board President. “It takes on the appearance of a family reunion – entertainment on stage, tents, grilled burgers and beverage available — right on the Grotto grounds. Bring your own comfy lawn chair.”

The afternoon begins with a talk by Father West, who is with Priests for Life. He will talk at 3 p.m.

The Johnson Family Singers perform at 3:30 p.m. and the Algona Area Children’s Chorus performs at 4:45 p.m. Algona Cornbelt Chorus takes the stage at 6 p.m.

Scott invites everyone to attend this annual, non-denominational event, and tour the Grotto, too. Campers can make use of the modern campsites.

“The red carpet will be rolled out for you,” he says. A free will offering will be accepted for the songfest and also for tours of the Grotto.
