Horizons Unlimited Offers Earth Day Tours

By Staff | Apr 8, 2008

In recognition of Earth Day, which is April 22, Horizons Unlimited of Palo Alto County, Inc. encourages every school in Palo Alto County and surrounding counties to come to Horizons Unlimited for a tour of our facility.

“Several schools have already scheduled tours with Horizons, but we would like to spend the entire Earth Day conducting tours and give lots of tours all week long,” said Lana Williams, vocational director at Horizons Unlimited. To schedule a tour, contact Williams at Horizons Unlimited at 712-852-2211, EXT 224 or vocdir@ncn.net.

Horizons Unlimited operates a full time bottle and can redemption center where thousands of bottles and cans are picked up monthly by vendors. Horizons Unlimited also operates a full time recycling center. They recycle newspapers, cardboard, plastics, magazines, tin and glass. Newspapers are the largest recyclable at Horizons with 825 tons collected annually.

For more information about how to recycle or any of the programs or services offered at Horizons Unlimited, please contact Horizons at 712-852-2211 or go to the website at www.horizons-unlimited.org
