Red Cross Chapter Begins Emmetsburg Office Hours
The Iowa Great Lakes Chapter of the American Red Cross, in its continuing goal of outreach to its five county area, will hold office hours in Emmetsburg today, Tuesday, March 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Location will be in the offices of Palo Alto County Emergency Management at 2001 11th Street in Emmetsburg.
Iowa Great Lakes Chapter Executive Director Bill Campbell will be on hand to answer questions on all aspects of the Red Cross including Health and Safety classes, Disaster Response and Preparedness and opportunities to volunteer with the local chapter. Information on preparing a family disaster plan, what to do during a severe weather event and much more will be available.
Also, anyone interested in becoming a member of the Iowa Great Lakes Chapter Disaster Assist Team (DAT Team) in Palo Alto County is encouraged to stop by. Responsibilities of being a DAT Team member include being on call at any time of the day or night to respond to local emergencies. This includes immediate assistance of food, clothing and shelter following a residential home fire. The Iowa Great Lakes Chapter will provide the needed disaster training, some of which is available online.
