MidAmerican Energy Unveils New Emmetsburg Service Center

By Staff | Nov 14, 2017

MidAmerican Energy Company officially opened its new Emmetsburg service center location at 4701 380th St. on Friday, November 3 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

MidAmerican Energy’s new Emmetsburg service center will serve gas and electric customers in the Emmetsburg, Ringsted, Ruthven, Ayrshire and Cylinder areas. The new location offers additional parking and materials storage, which allows space to keep the crew trucks and equipment in good working order for longer.

“Our Emmetsburg-area customers can expect the same great service that we have provided, but at a new address that enhances our ability to respond to customers’ needs,” said Dave Ostheimer, manager of electric operations for MidAmerican Energy. “We are excited to show off our new home to customers and to continue supporting the community we have proudly served for decades.”

MidAmerican Energy purchased and remodeled an existing structure in the area and began moving into the building in early April.

As part of MidAmerican Energy’s continued support of the community, the old service center has been donated to the Chamber to use as its permanent location. The building also houses a local radio station and an Iowa welcome center. The Chamber is looking for additional opportunities to fully utilize the remaining space by partnering with other local nonprofits.
