Emmetsburg Middle School Principal Tracie Chrsitensen recently named the October Students of the month. Fifth Graders – Jose Espinoza for working his hardest and just doing the right thing. Jacob Manwarren for showing E-Hawk Pride or school spirit by always having a positive attitude and approach to school and is willing to try new things, even if it may be difficult. Has shown significant improvement in the area of reading. He has moved from a 2nd grade reading level passage to a 3rd grade reading level passage. Has shown leadership by helping others get to work and complete their assignment in a quick manner. Jacob consistently shows what it means to be a leader in my room. Has represented community of Emmetsburg in a positive way by walking his younger cousin around town for Halloween trick or treating and didn’t even take any candy himself, he gave them all to his cousin instead. He was a very humble act which is not easy to do at times. Ava Faulkner for being helpful and kind every day.

Seventh Graders – Carson Mattson for going above and beyond to try new things in Reading, especially using technology; Katherine Cifuentes Mejia always works so hard in ELA! She is very diligent in her work. She is not afraid to ask for help or help others. Additionally, she gives attention to detail in her writing. Has shown character and leadership in the classroom! Olivia Sanders for going above and beyond in creating her Batik, because she developed the work from her own ORIGINAL IDEA and sketch. Katie Nelson for always doing the right thing in class.

Eighth Graders – Elyssa Flannegan is always concerned about others and looks out for more than just herself. This selflessness is awesome to see. She also has been working very had and has made some huge strides in Band so far this year. Tyler Stokes for showing great leadership skills on a daily basis. Jayson Baker for making good choices and putting forth your best effort.
