Nature Programs Announced

The Palo Alto County Conservation Board is sponsoring the following upcoming programs:

Monarch Tagging, Wednesday, August 30, 4:00 pm. Meet at the Lost Island Nature Center. Learn about the amazing Monarch migration and help tag some local Monarchs before they head to Mexico

Iowa Young Birders outing, Saturday, September 9, 9:00 am-12:00 noon. This free event is open to students ages 8-18 and their parents. Join local bird enthusiasts for a field trip to area lakes and marshes. Meet at the Lost Island Nature Center, north of Ruthven. Some carpooling involved. We have the binoculars and bird books. Nature Hike, Tuesday, September 26, 9:00 am. Watson Heritage Area, located Southwest of Emmetsburg, off of Burns Road by the river bridge. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your binoculars, or borrow a pair of ours.
