Emmetsburg FFA Presents Awards At Banquet

NEW?OFFICERS - The newley elected officers of the Emmetsburg FFA were named at the annual Awards Banquet. From left to right are Sentinel Koll Joyce, Secretary Evan Brennan, Sentinel Kinsey Kogel, Reporter Alexis Louwagie, Treasurer Thomas Woodford, Secretary Breighton Egland, Vice President Betty Sue Strohman and President Jillian Joyce.

Members of the Emmetsburg FFA?were honored for their accomplishments during the annual awards banquet on Thursday, April 20.

Members recognized for their Supervised Agricultural Experience programs were Freshmen Raven Brown, Tim Geelan, Mason Griffin, Koll Joyce, Jon Lace, Shane Moffitt and Molly Schany.

Sophomore awards went to Evan Brennan, Adam Deitering, Breighton Egland, Spencer Griffin, Carter Hoffman, Kinsey Kogel, Nick Krieg, Kyle Licht, Alexis Louwagie, Hunter Murphy, Nick Schany, Betty Sue Strohman, Clayton Swanson and Thomas Woodford.

Junior award winners were Austin Bergstrom, Dalton Bunda, Brennan Duhn, Sean Ireland, Jillian Joyce, Dylan Kibbie, Kolten Long, Zach Mason, Hunter McAllister, Mary Nelson, Wade Travis and Zane Wickman.

Senior award winners were Grant Deitering, Nick Plantz, Will Schany, Jade Schleisman and Brent Wesley.

HONORARY?CHAPTER?FARMER - Angie Joyce was presented with the Honorary Chapter Farmer Degree by President Will Schany during the annual Awards Banquet. Joyce was honored for her assistance and support of the FFA

Members earning Sales Awards were Brennan Duhn, Kyle Licht, Jillian Joyce and Hunter Naig.

Thomas Woodford was honored for receiving a Gold award at Sub-District and Silver award at District contests in Ag Broadcasting and was also named the Star Chapter Farmer.

Koll Joyce was named the Star Chapter Farmer and the Honorary Chapter Farmer award was presented to Angie Joyce.

Proficiency awards were presented to Evan Brennan, Breighton Egland, Kyle Licht, Thomas Woodford, Jillian Joyce and Mary Nelson.

The two-$250 Senior Scholarships were awarded to Will Schany and Grant Deitering.

STAR?GREENHAND?FARMER - Koll Joyce, left, was named the recipient of the Star Greenhand Award and presented with his plaque by Chapter President Will Schany. The Star Greenhandr is awarded to the chapter’s most active first-year member that has demonstrated leadership skills and has plans for a strong Supervised Agricultural Experience program.

STAR?CHAPTER?FARMER - Thomas Woodford, right, was named the recipient of the Star Chapter Farmer Award and presented with his plaque by Chapter President Will Schany. The Star Chapter Farmer is awarded to the member with an outstanding Supervised Agricultural Experience program, as well as demonstrating leadership and participating in FFA?activities.

SENIOR?SCHOLARSHIPS - The Emmetsburg FFA?awarded two-$250 scholarships this year to senior members, based in part on essays written by the applicants. The scholarships were presented to Will Schany, left, and Grant Deitering, right, by Chapter Advisor and Vocational Agriculture Instructor Mr. Steve Pfaffle, center.
