Pocahontas Celebrates Heritage Days
The Pocahontas Chamber of Commerce presents Pocahontas’ annual town festival, Heritage Days. The event will be held on the weekend of June 24-26.
Live entertainment, diverse food vendors from across Iowa and activities for all ages will provide family fun the entire weekend. A Heritage Days button allows the wearer to participate in activities.
This year’s Heritage Days festival will focus on the diverse heritage and culture of Pocahontas. Families are encouraged to represent by hosting a vendor booth with the family’s best Bohemian babovka, kolache or mutton. Sell native boho crafts made as a child. Everyone is encouraged to get back to their roots and celebrate what makes Pocahontas who they are.
Contact the Chamber to host a vendor food or craft tent, activity or performance. “You’ll love the changes we have in store for this year’s Heritage Days festival because we are going back to celebrating your heritage and celebrating you!” the Chamber says in encouraging everyone to take part.
For all inquiries contact Sarah Vonnahme, event coordinator, or any member of the Pocahontas Chamber of Commerce. Heritage Days button are available in advance at City Hall.
