Officers for the coming year were installed at the May 17 meeting of the Auxiliary to the VFW Post 2295. Ellen Picray presided over the installation.

The charter was draped for the month in memory of members Inez Loss and Donna Kunz who both passed away this past month. Names of all our deceased members from 1946 through now were read.

Commander Terry Chamberlain came to talk to the auxiliary. Memorial Day, May 30, activities will be held at the lake and cemetery. The band will march and play and a program will be held at the cemetery. The auxiliary will again help with hot dogs, pop and coffee at the post after the event. He also talked about a fundraiser which will be held on Friday, Aug. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. Legions and VFW from Palo Alto County will have a meal, auction and a speaker.

Betty Priest and Helen Myers will again sell poppies at Fareway sometime around Memorial Day and will also sell poppies at the post celebration on Memorial Day. We will meet at Emmetsburg cemetery on Friday, May 27, to put flags on graves of past members.

Our next meeting will be June 21 at 5:30 p.m. The June committee includes Louise Sackett, Betty Drew, Kay Kibbie and Carolyn Smith.
