MSCT Cast Announced For “Monty Python’s Spamalot” Musical
Emmetsburg Main Street Community Theatre has cast its upcoming musical, “Monty Python’s Spamalot.”
Members of the cast are: Chris Myers of Graettinger playing the role of King Arthur, joined by Don Joyce playing his trusty servant, Patsy, and Andy Stolley as Prince Herbert. Johnny Schad will play the role of Prince Herbert’s father. Denise Haack will portray Lady of the Lake.
Knights of King Arthur’s Round Table are Kirk Haack as Sir Galahad, Lee Taito of Spirit Lake as Lancelot, Ed Meyer as Sir Robin, and Steve Cox of Algona as Sir Bedevere. Jimmy Cranke will play the role of Historian and Jay Hember has been cast as the Enchanter.
Cynthia Berkland of Cylinder will play the Knight who says Ni. Peter Morlock will sing the role of the Mayor and Not Dead Fred. George VanMeter will play Galahad’s Mother.
Additional members of the ensemble are Jacque Brown, Miranda Nielson of Graettinger, Jen Meyer, Lori Flynn, Jordan Lange, Peyton Kennedy, Stacy Berkland, Tricia Cox of Algona, and Hannah Joyce.
“Spamalot” is based on the 1975 movie, Monty Python’s Search For The Holy Grail. The musical won the Tony Award for best Musical when it opened on Broadway in 2005.
It is England, 932 A.C. King Arthur and his Knights of the Round table, including Sir Galahad, Sir Robin, Sir Lancelot, and Sir Bedevere, are given a quest by God to find the Holy Grail.
Arthur is aided in his search by the Lady of the Lake. The Knlghts leave Camelot and travel all over the world in search of the Grail. They encounter obstacles along the way the Black Knight, the Knights who say NI and Tim the Enchanter. They run into opposition from the French who think the quest is stupid.
Directors for the musical are Jackie VanOosbree Peggy Stolley, Peter Morlock and Denise Haack.
“Spamalot” show dates are the second and third weekends in April.
