Spirit Of Harmony To Perform Nov. 1

By Staff | Oct 20, 2015

Spirit of Harmony Celebrates 35 Years

The Spirit of Harmony Chorus celebrates 35 years as a chartered chorus of Sweet Adelines International, with their annual fall show, entitled “Why We Sing.” Chorus members were asked why they joined Spirit of Harmony, and those answers will be part of the show. Former chorus members have also been invited to join the chorus on stage in an arrangement of “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.” Within “Why We Sing” will be the fictional TV program, “All About You.” This talk show will feature interviews with Dr. Priscilla Penny, Feather Driftwood and Ann Stone, with an appearance by the little old man and lady who appeared in last year’s Laugh In show. These colorful characters are sure to tickle your funny bone.

“Why We Sing” will be held on Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 pm in Spirit Lake at the Sami Center for the Performing Arts with special guests The Benson Family Singers, back by popular demand.

New this year will be a Sunday evening performance on Nov. 1 at 7:30 pm, at the Emmetsburg High School with special guests The Cornbelt Chorus. Also performing at both shows will be “Affinity”, Spirit of Harmony’s very own award winning quartet.

Advanced tickets are available at Lewis Family Drug in Spirit Lake, from chorus members, or you may call 712-336-4765. Tickets are also available at the door.

This promises to be an afternoon and evening of a cappella music you won’t want to miss!
