By Staff | Jun 30, 2015

The Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 2295 met Tuesday, June 16, with nine members answering roll call. President LouAnn Huberty opened the meeting with pledge to the American Flag and the National Anthem.

Members Betty Priest and Helen Myers sold poppies at the Fareway store before Memorial Day and at the Post the day of the Memorial Day celebration. A total of $434.36 collected. The auxiliary gave $100 of that to the VFW men as they purchase the poppies each year.

A donation was made to the local fireworks for July 4. Bette Priest made the motion to give $100 and Ann Stillman seconded. A total of $424 was made for the Auxilaiiry’s portion of fish fries over Lent.

A memorial service was held for deceased members of the Auxiliary since 1946. Members discussed the Right Thing Award. LouAnn Huberty and Kay Kibbie handed out their awards this past month.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, July 21. Betty Finnestad, Marlene Walker, Leola Kliegl, Jackie VanOosbree and Vivian Gould are on the food committee.
