Anthony Brewer was recently hired as the new administrator for Lakeside Lutheran Home and Assisted Living. As administrator, Brewer is responsible for the overall management of the organization and the quality support of its residents.

“My nearly 15 years of experience in healthcare will give me a great advantage here at Lakeside,” Brewer said.

“I began my career in the kitchen as a dietary assistant and worked my way through college as a nursing assistant,” he said. “These experiences and a desire to help people are what motivated me to pursue a career in healthcare administration. This allows me to relate to our staff in a more complex way when it comes to their challenges and accomplishments as I have been there myself.”

Prior to being appointed administrator for Lakeside, Brewer served as Executive Director of Reed House Assisted Living in Denison.

Brewer earned his Associate of Arts at Iowa Lakes Community College, his Bachelor’s of Political Science at University of Northern Iowa, Master of Public Administration at Iowa State University, and holds a Certificate in Assisted Living Management and a Nursing Home Administrator’s License from the State of Iowa.

His favorite part about his position has been the joy of spending time with residents and making positive changes for the lives of seniors.

“I am eager to serve the residents of Lakeside and make a positive difference in my new community” added Brewer.

The community was given the opportunity to meet Anthony and welcome him to Emmetsburg at the weekly Chamber Coffee at Lakeside Assisted Living on June 19.

Lakeside Lutheran Home and Assisted Living is a nonprofit church affiliated organization located at 301 North Lawler Street in Emmetsburg.
