Wentzel & Ohrtman Wed

On July 20, 2013, Marguerite Josephine Wentzel wed Nicholas William Ohrtman in Emmetsburg.

Marguerite is the daughter of Ted and Nancy Wentzel of Emmetsburg and Nicholas is the son of Stewart and Kathie Ohrtman of Ringsted.

The couple was wed at Bethany Lutheran Church at 4 p.m. in Emmetsburg. The bride wore a strapless Oleg Cassini gown with catching gold beading and embroidered lace. The dress had a chapel train and she carried a bouquet of white roses and calla lilies.

The Matrons of Honor were Amanda Brown, cousin of the bride, of Eagan, MN and Katie Morgan, friend of the bride, of Alta. The Best Men were Michael Somsky, friend of the groom, of Portland, OR and Ryan Ohrtman, brother of the groom, of Albert Lea, MN.

The bridesmaids were Ashley Opheim, future sister-in-law and friend of the bride (Conrad, MT); Anne Wentzel, sister-in-law of the bride (Roseville, MN); Andrea Ohrtman, sister of the groom (West Des Moines); Madeline Brown, cousin of the bride (Columbia, MO); and Alyssa Ohrtman, sister-in-law of the groom (Albert Lea, MN).

Groomsmen were T.J. Wentzel, brother of the bride (Conrad, MT); Michael Wentzel, brother of the bride (Roseville, MN); Matt Miller, brother-in-law of the groom (West Des Moines); Adam Walsh, friend of the couple (Ankeny); and Matt Guess, cousin of the groom (Des Moines).

The flower girls were Harper Guess, cousin of the groom from Pella and Lucia Wells, cousin of the bride from San Francisco, CA. The ring bearer was Bryson Ohrtman, godson and nephew of the couple from Albert Lea, MN.

Marguerite Ohrtman, is the Director of School Counseling and Clinical Training in the Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology program in the Education Psychology Department at the University of Minnesota. Marguerite is a graduate from Iowa State University and earned her master’s and doctoral degrees from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Nicholas Ohrtman is the International Sales Manager for AgLeader Technology based out of Ames. Nicholas is a 2006 graduate of Iowa State University in Agriculture Studies.

The couple honeymooned in Italy and traveled to Rome, Florence, and Venice. They are making their home in Blaine, MN.
