Jones/Durlam Wed

Nicole and Alex Durlam

Nicole Kristine Jones and Alex James Durlam exchanged wedding vows on June 18, 2011, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. Pastor Steve Ellerbusch officiated.

Nikki is the daughter of Randy and Deb Jones of Emmetsburg, and Alex is the son of Brian and Jodi Durlam of Huxley.

The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore a strapless gown designed by Allure Bridals. Her matron of honor was Nicole Sage, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Beth Elman, Leah Siebrecht, Rachel Lowman, Amanda Petersen, Bethany Jacobson, and Jessie McMaster, all friends of the bride. Flower girls were Brinn Sage, the groom’s niece; Aspen Cole; and Emma, Jayce, and Tess Weiner, cousins of the groom. Assisting the bride as her personal attendant was her friend, Kristine Erickson.

The groom’s friend, Eric Blum, was the best man. Groomsmen were Austin Minnehan, the groom’s cousin; Nathan Franksain, friend of the groom; Ryan Jones, brother of the bride; Jon Minnehan, cousin of the groom; and Barret Hoppenworth and Kam Klaver, the groom’s friends. Jacob Jones, the bride’s cousin, was the ring bearer.

Special guests at the wedding were Loren and June Schultz and Ernie and Barb Jones, grandparents of the bride, and Wendell and Phyllis Durlam and Connie Ryan, the groom’s grandparents.

Claire McGlathery, cousin of the bride, and Morgan Minnehan, cousin of the groom, greeted guests at the guestbook. Guests were escorted to their seats by ushers, Dustin Finer, Justin Malm, Kent Petersen, and Cory Lee. Kelly Ryan, the groom’s uncle, gave the reading. Guests were entertained by vocalist Laura Fog, friend of the bride. Organist was Jan Campbell.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dinner were held at the VFW in Emmetsburg. Jeremy and Gayle Jones and Tim and Denise Cole, aunts and uncles of the couple, served as hosts and hostesses. The wedding party and guests danced to music provided by the band, KTop.

Alex and Nikki honeymooned in Hawaii. They have made their home in Ankeny, with their two dogs, Baxter and Gunner.
