Odor Will Do What’s Right for the District

October 23, 2018
Emmetsburg News

This election season you as a citizen have a decision to make. Do you vote for someone who has been in office for 3 terms and done little for the citizens or someone who is one of us that wants to do what's best for the citizens of district 2? I want to suggest that you look into Ryan Odor for Iowa House of Representatives. Yes, that name is correct, Odor like the word for a scent.

Ryan grew up in a middle class family in Spencer. He was taught that nothing can be achieved without hard work. Ryan moved to Iowa City where he worked in hospitality. After the untimely death of his mother and the birth of his niece in 2008, Ryan decided to move back to Spencer to be closer to family. While in Spencer Ryan has worked hospitality, Executive Director of the Heritage Center and is currently Executive Director of Arts on Grand.

Ryan made the decision to run for office after careful consideration. After many conversations with others, and the support of his wife he knew it was the best decision. He knew that our district needed better representation of the constituents. When elected he plans to work hard for the needs and wants of the people he represents. He will listen to both sides and vote for what is best for the district and the people.

Ryan plans to come home when not in session or on break and keep contributing to the community he works in. He will continue as Executive Director of Arts on Grand, be involved in theater, visit and talk to the residents of the towns he will represent, and attending events with the Langdon Methodist Church that his wife, Beth, is layperson at. Along with all of that he will spend time with his stepson, Darian, at Morningside in Sioux City and his niece and nephew in Emmetsburg.

Come November 6 (or earlier as early voting has begun) vote for the person who wants to make Iowa a better place to live, love, learn and grow. Thank you,

Jessica Thoren.
