Emmetsburg dispatched Unity Christian Friday night in a game that featured a dominant first half and an explosive E-Hawks' ground game.

Emmetsburg scored 13 points in quarter one and 15 points in quarter two. The team relied on its ground game to move the chains. The frontline had its hands full with the Dekkers senior Damon, 6 feet, 6 inches and 250 pounds and junior Lane, 6 feet, 3 inches and 350 pounds. But the E-Hawks' O-line proved more than capable, carving holes in the Knights defense and paving the way for Schany and company to run with impunity.

Unity Christian never posed a threat. The Knights scored in the fourth, but the game was already long decided.

Nick Schany racked up 157 yards on 16 carries, including a 57-yard dash. Schany finished the night with three touchdowns and eight first downs.

Corbin Saathoff had 13 carries for 141 yards. Saathoff had a 40-yard run and five first downs. Emmetsburg rushed the ball for 402 yards on 58 carries.

Quarterback Connor Joyce threw for 61 yards all to Zach Foxhoven, who also had two TDs.

On defense, Schany and Bret Hoyman proved formidable. Schany had five solo tackles and assisted on seven. Hoyman had four solo tackles and assisted on six.

In special teams, Cade Jacobson was four for four in point-after attempts.

The officials lobbed plenty of penalty flags. The Knights spread the wealth, amassing five offensive and five defensive penalties. Emmetsburg was more disciplined, incurring three offensive infractions. According to iScore Football Game Stats, the E-Hawks were only flagged twice on defense.

The win improved Emmetsburg's record to 3-4. The E-Hawks travel to Hull next Friday to take on Western Christian.
