Absentee Ballots Now Available For Graettinger-Terril Special Bond Election

Absentee ballots are now available for voters in the Graettinger-Terril Community School District for the special School Bond Election scheduled for Tuesday, April 3. Palo Alto County Commissioner of Elections Carmen Moser announced the availablity of the ballots at the end of last week.

Eligible electors of the Graettinger-Terril Community School District who are disabled or are going to be absent on election day, April 3, may vote an absentee ballot at the Palo Alto County Auditor's Office. Or, those individuals may request an absentee ballot through the mail. Absentte Ballot requests by mail must be on the Official Absentee Ballot Request Form, which is available from the Palo Alto County Auditor's Office. The County Auditor's Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. , Monday through Friday.

The last day to pre-register to vote for the special election will be on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. If you have moved, please call the Palo Alto County Auditor's Office at 712-852-2924 to get your address changed to the correct location, which will help to avoid waiting in line at the polls on election day.

The polls will be open on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Graettinger Public Library for and the Terril Memorial Building.

Voters will be required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before they may receive and cast their ballot. Pre-registered voters who are unable to show approved ID may sign an oath of identification for an election held in 2018.

Voters who are not pre-registered or who have changed precincts also may be required to provide proof of residence. Any voter who cannot show ID may have their identity attested to by another registered voter in the precinct who has proper ID. Starting January 1, 2019, all voters will be required to present an approved form of identification.
