In the final quarter, Sioux Central's scoring began to slow in the face of Emmetsburg's defensive pressure. The Rebels would slip out to a 46-42 lead with 4:00 to play and edged out to a 48-42 lead with 3:45 to go in the game, but a pair of buckets by the Lady E-Hawks cut the gap to three points before Lindsay Carter knocked down a three pointer to tie the game at 48-48 and drained another trey with 2:00 to play for a 51-48. The Rebels would get a bucket with a minute to go but couldn't score in the final seconds as Emmetsburg escaped with the 51-50 win.

Lindsay Carter would tally 15 points, while Abbie Schany added 14 tallies. Molly Schany scored 12 points and Raven Brown added 10 points.

The victory improved the Lady E-Hawks to 9-4 on the season.

For the E-Hawk boys, the picture was not as pretty, as they would trail 19-5 after the first quarter, but fought their way back to trail 38-20 at the intermission.

Sioux Central would apply tough defensive pressure throughout the second half of the contest, taking a 55-28 lead after the third quarter. But in the final quarter, Emmetsburg made a run at the Rebels, but were unable to come any closer than the 68-54 final tally.

Emmetsburg's offense was led by the 13-point effort of Tim Geelan off the bench, while Zach Mason came away with 12 points. Blake VerMulm was held to seven points, while Hunter McAllister added six points. Dylan Kibbie and Ben Dunlap both scored five points each and Gerard Ruiz and Jace Carlson rounded out the scoring with three points each.
