WEST?BEND - West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate's Wolverines hosted Alta-Aurelia in Twin Lakes Conference basketball action Friday night. Both the Lady Wolverines and Wolverines came up on the wrong side of the scoreboard on the evening.

For the girls game, WBM/GCB would lead after the first quarter of play, taking a 10-7 advantage, but in the second quarter, shooting woes began to hamper the Lady Wolverines, as they would trail 17-28 at the intermission. In the third quarter, Alta-Aurelia's pressure defense would create turnovers and cold shooting limited the Lady Wolverines to five points, as they would trail 22-40 going into the final frame.

Alta-Aurelia would go on to claim the 58-25 final victory in the contest.

For the boys game, the Wolverines would also take a first quarter lead of 9-7 over the Warriors, but a full-court press by Alta-Aurelia would stymie the Wolverines in the second quarter, and WBM/GCB trailed 20-11 at the half-time break.

Both teams would struggle with shots in the second half, but the Wolverines would struggle for offensive rebounds in the third quarter and trailed 30-23 going into the final quarter, where they were outscored 17-14 for the 47-37 final score.

Cole Hoskins would lead the Wolverine offense with 16 points, while Danie Riesenberg added seven points. Thad Fogarty dropped in four points, while Noah Fehr, Mason Link, Dylan Drahota, Dexter Knobloch and Nick Ford all chipped in two points each in the final effort for WBM/GCB.
