Youthful Lady E-Hawks Taste Action At Bishop Garrigan Jamboree

Emmetsburg's girls basketball season opened with scrimmage play in the Bishop Garrigan Jamboree Tuesday night.The Lady E-Hawks would meet up with Forest City in the second scrimmage Tuesday night, but fell short in a 28-22 decision.

After one quarter of play, the Lady E-Hawks trailed 15-8 and trailed by as much as a 19-8 margin in the second quarter before Emmetsburg rallied and fought their way back before falling 22-28.

For Emmetsburg, Abbie Schany would lead the scoring with eight points, while Molly Schany and Lindsay Carter both scored six points each and Gretchen Hofstad added two points.

Emmetsburg will play next Tuesday night, Nov. 21, in a Hall Of Pride Game against Bishop Garrigan at Algona. Both junior varsity and varsity teams will play in the contest, which gets underway at 5:30 p.m.
