Netters Close Out Conference Tournament Play

LAURENS - Play in the Twin Lakes Conference tournament came to a close Thursday night. For the three Palo Alto County teams, solid finishes were earned by each squad at the conclusion of play.

Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawks would earn a fifth place finish in the tournament, while the Titans of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven- Ayrshire earned a seventh place finish and West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate's Lady Wolverines would finish in tenth place in the 12-team tournament.

After going 1-1 in the Tuesday night tournament games, Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawks squared off against East Sac County in their first match Thursday at Laurens, and fell 2-0 by game scores of 14-25 and 18-25.

Molly Schany made 20 attacks with five kills and one dig, while Parker Traub added 19 attacks with five kills, 10 digs, one block, nine of nine serves with an ace and seven assists.

Gretchen Hofstad added 10 attacks with two kills, nine digs, a block and three of four serves.

The Lady E-Hawks would meet up with Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire and battled the Titans to a 2-1 victory by game scores of 19-25, 25-14 and 15-4.

Parker Traub would make 28 attacks in the match with six kills, along with nine digs, 10 of 11 serves and four aces and handing out nine assists.

Molly Schany added 24 attacks with seven kills, one dig and one assist with one blocked shots. Gretchen Hofstad would make eight attacks with five digs, an assist and three of four serves with an ace and Emma Anderson added seven attacks with one kill and a dig.

Lindsay Carter made 14 digs in the match and added 11 of 12 serves while Macy McAllister added three digs, five assists and made 15 of 16 serves with four aces.

Moving to the fifth place match, Emmetsburg would meet Newell-Fonda. The Lady E-Hawks would play an outstanding match as they won 2-0 by game scores of 25-15 and 25-23.

Molly Schany came away with 26 attacks and eight kills, while making three digs and one blocked shot. Parker Traub added 14 attacks and had four kills, while handing out nine assists and 13 of 14 serves with four aces.

Morgan Jamison made six attacks with one kill and added one dig, one assists and four of five serves.

Lindsay Carter added five digs and made 10 of 12 serves with an ace.

Titans Results

Graettinger-Terril/ Ruthven-Ayrshire would end up with a seventh place finish in the Conference tournament, as they finished Thursday's play with a mark of 2-1.

In action on Tuesday, the Titans fell to Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon 2-1, by game scores of 21-25, 25-18 and 5-15.

Toni Alesch made 18 attacks with five kills, three digs, two blocks and 11 of 11 serves with an ace, while Kylea Fehr adding 17 attacks with eight kills, 10 digs and seven of seven serves.

Madison Hough added 14 attacks with three kills and two digs, while Anna Sorenson added 14 attacks with three kills.

Madison Norris handed out 24 assists and made six digs, with one attack and added six of six serves.

Against Manson Northwest Webster, the Titans won 2-1 by game scores of 25-23, 22-25 and 15-11.

Toni Alesch made 20 attacks with nine kills, five digs, two blocks and 10 of 10 serves with an ace.

Kylea Fehr added 16 attacks with five kills, 10 digs and 12 of 12 serves. Madison Hough added 14 attacks with two kills, one dig and five blocks. Madison Norris would hand out 21 assists and made six digs.

Thursday night the Titans fell to South Central Calhoun by scores of 11-25 and 23-25.

Kylea Fehr made 13 attacks with one kill and five digs, along with five of six serves, while Emma Heinrichs made 13 attacks and had seven digs with three of three serves. Madison Hough added 12 attacks with two kills, along with two digs and a block shot.

Against Emmetsburg, the Titans fell 2-1, by scores of 25-20, 14-25 and 4-15.

Toni Alesch had 26 attacks with six kills, four digs, one block and four of four serves. Anna Sorenson added 13 attacks with five digs and a blocked shot. Emma Heinrichs added 13 attacks with one kill, 10 digs and one of two serves while Madison Norris made 14 assists, nine digs, one block, 15 of 16 serves with three aces and two attacks with two kills.

In the seventh place match, GT/RA would down Manson Northwest Webster 2-1 by scores of 20-25, 26-24 and 15-9.

Kylea Fehr made 23 attacks with five kills, 12 digs and 10 of 10 serves. Emma Heinrichs added 13 attacks with six kills, 12 digs, two blocks and six of seven serves. Chloe Bakken dug out 12 shots, while Madison Norris issued 19 assists. Taylor Park would made six attacks with two kills, dug out 23 shots and made 16 of 17 serves with four aces.


The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/ Gilmore City-Bradgate would end up finishing tenth in the league tournament.

Tuesday night, the Lady Wolverines fell 2-0 to South Central Calhoun by scores of 15-25 and 14-25.

Trissa Schmidt made 17 attacks with 11 kills, while Isabell Gehrt issued eight assists. Rachel Fehr had six digs, while Karissa Montag blocked one shot and made six of six serves with an ace.

Against Southeast Valley, WBM/GCB fell 2-0 by scores of 23-25 and 21-25.

Monika Fehr had 19 attacks with five kills, while Autumn Mogler added 18 attacks with four kills. Isabell Gehrt issued 15 assists, while Trissa Schmidt had a blocked shot and Kylee Thilges added 10 of 10 serves.

In play at Sioux Central on Thursday night, WBM/GCB would blank St. Mary's of Storm Lake by game scores of 25-12 and 25-21.

Autumn Mogler would made 15 attacks with four kills, while Karissa Montag added 14 attacks with six kills. Isabell Gehrt issued 11 assists to her teammates and dug out five shots, while Rachel Fehr also made five digs.

The Lady Wolverines then defeated Sioux Central 2-1 by scores of 20-25, 25-16 and 15-11.

Karissa Montag made 15 attacks with four kills and 13 of 13 serves with three aces, while Kylee Thilges added 13 of 14 serves with an ace. Monika Fehr made three blocks, while Trissa Schmidt added five digs and Isabell Gehrt added seven assists.

In the match for ninth place, the Lady Wolverines fell to Pocahontas Area/LM 2-0 by scores of 18-25 and 19-25.

Autumn Mogler made 13 attacks with four kills and Monika Fehr added 12 attacks with three kills. Isabell Gehrt made eight assists and blocked a shot, while Kylee Thilges had five digs and Autum Mogler made eight of eight serves with an ace and Trissa Schmidt added a blocked shot.
