Titans Lose Heartbreaker At Remsen

REMSEN - An early lead wouldn't hold up for the Titans of Graettinger-Terril/ Ruthven-Ayrshire Friday night as they lost a 27-24 heartbreaker to Remsen St. Mary's. The loss drops the titans to 1-2 in Eight Man District One and 3-2 overall on the season as they prepare to host Clay Central-Everly this Friday night for Homecoming.

GT/RA got out to an early 16-0 lead, but the Hawks would fight their way back into the contest as the Titans held a 24-13 lead going into the final quarter of play.

Remsen St. Marys would score two unanswered touchdowns early in the final period to take a 27-24 lead, but GT/RA got the ball back and drove down field as time wound down, only to come up short on a key fourth down that would end the Titans' chances for victory.

GT/RA would amass 352 yards off offense, with 252 rushing yards and 90 yards passing as opposed to St. Mary's 288 total yards, with 157 rushing yards and 131 passing yards.

Kolton Roth would rush the ball 29 times to gain 139 yards and scored two touchdowns, while Jacob Conlon ran 155 times to gain 73 yards and scored one touchdown.. Chris Conlon added five carries for 32 yards and Nate Larson ran twice for 18 yards.

Jacob Conlon completed four of six passes for 90 yards, with Kolton Roth making a 53 yard reception, while Chris Conlon had two catches for 33 yards and Tommy Geelan made a four-yard reception.

Defensively, the Titans got eight tackles from Jace Naig, while Chris Conlon and Jacob Conlon both made seven and a half stops and Nate Larson added seven stops.Lucas Hoffman and Shay Royster both came away with six tackles each.

Nate Larson recovered a fumble for Titans in the effort.
