School Board Absentee Ballots Now Available

Absentee ballots are now available at the Palo Alto County Auditor's Office for the school election to be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

Persons who are disabled or are going to be absent on Election Day, September 12, may vote an absentee ballot at the County Auditor's Office or request an absentee ballot through the mail. Requests by mail must be on the Official Absentee Ballot Request Form available at the County Auditor's Office. The County Auditor's Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The last day to pre-register to vote for the school election is on Friday, September 1, 2017. If you have moved please call the Auditor's Office at 712-852-2924 to get your address changed and to avoid waiting in line at the polls.

The polls will be open on Tuesday, September 12, 2015, from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 p.m. for voters living in the Emmetsburg, Ruthven-Ayrshire and West Bend-Mallard Community School Districts.

Voters living in the Emmetsburg Community School District will cast their votes at the Election Center in Emmetsburg.

Patrons of the Ruthven-Ayrshire Community School District will cast their votes at the Ruthven Social Center in Ruthven.

For those voters living in the West Bend-Mallard Community School District, voting will be conducted at the West Bend Public Library in West Bend and the Mallard Community Center in Mallard.

For voters living in the Graettinger-Terril Community School District, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, as the district patrons are being asked to vote on a bond issue as well during the election. Residents living in the Graettinger-Terril Community School District will vote at the Graettinger Public Library in Graettinger, with patrons living in Dickinson County voting at the Terril Memorial Building in Terril.
