Jacob Alan Hoffman, was born on June 12, 1990 in Carroll to Dean and Teaner (Bates) Hoffman. He attended and graduated from Graettinger-Terril High School. He was currently employed at H2O Chlorination in Emmetsburg. Jake passed away on July 15, 2017 at the age of 27 years.

Jake was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Graettinger. On June 10, 2017, Jake was united in marriage to his puddin' Hillary Pico, after seven years together, in Graettinger.

Jake had a natural talent for wrestling, and carried that passion on past high school through his time coaching the young men at Graettinger Terril High School. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, and spending time with his dogs. He was quite the story-teller with a free spirit that had the ability to make any one's day better. Jake was always available to lend a helping hand, or up for a good time with family and friends. He was an amazing uncle to his nephew and niece Myles and Katelee.

In keeping with Jake's loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life so that others may live a happy life as he did.

Jake is survived by his wife Hillary, his parents Dean and Teaner Hoffman, his sister Amanda (Ryan) Mart, his nephew and niece Myles and Katelee Mart, and his grandpa Lambert Hoffman; all of Graettinger. He is also survived by his in-laws Renee (Dan) Chism and Willie Pico (special friend Kaye) all of Emmetsburg. Jake is also survived by his sisters-in-law Olivia Chism and Liz (Colin) Hoppe. He will be remembered by many special friends and family.

Jake is preceded in death by his grandmothers: Marge Hoffman and Jean Bates; and his uncle: Jerry Naber.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
