Lady E-Hawks Fall At WesternChristian

HULL - Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawks made the long trip to Hull on Monday night and found themselves shut out of scoring in a 6-0 loss to the Wolfpack of Western Christian. The loss dropped Emmetsburg to a mark of 2-6 in the Lakes Conference and 9-13 overall.

The Lady E-Hawks would be retired in order to start the contest, while Western Christian was able to plate a run off a double and a sacrifice to take a 1-0 lead at the end of the first inning.

Emmetsburg would go down in order again in the top of the second and the Wolfpack scored another run in their half of the inning off a error and sacrifice to take a 2-0 lead.

The Lady E-Hawks got on base in the top of the third as Emma Anderson and Parker Traub both were walked before Raven Brown struck out and a fielders' choice on Macy McAllister's at-bat put Anderson out at third but left Traub and McAllister waiting when Lindsay Carter struck out.

Western Christian would plate two runs in the bottom of the third, using a double and a pair of base hits to do the damage, while stranding three runners for a 4-0 lead

Emmetsburg would be retired in order in the top of the fourth, while Western Christian plated two more runs off a single and double, but left a runner stranded.

Now trailing 6-0 to start the fifth inning, Emmetsburg got a one-out walk from Cheyanne Fries, but she was left waiting at second base when the at-bat ended. The Wolfpack would get a base hit but left the runner stranded to end their half of the inning.

In the top of the sixth, Annie Brennan drew a walk with two outs, but would be left waiting at second base when the at-bat ended. Western Christian would get a leadoff walk in the bottom of the frame but left their runner stranded at second.

In the top of the seventh, Molly Schany got a one-out base hit and moved to third base off a pair of passed balls, but was left waiting as the game ended for the Lady E-Hawks.

Mikayla Frerichs took the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, off eight hits, with two walks and three strikeouts.

Emmetsburg got it's lone hit from Molly Schany.
