Emmetsburg News

Andy Matheason of Culligan was recently inducted into the Culligan Hall of Fame. This award is given to Culligan sales associates that have earned 25,000 points over the course of their career. To put this award into perspective, each sale that Matheason makes is worth roughly three to six points. Matheason achieved this award in only 19 years.

Matheason began his carrier working part-time for the United States Post Office as a Rural Carrier Associate. His dream job was to some day become a Rural Carrier. In 1997, Skip Wallace placed a "help-wanted" advertisement in the Emmetsburg newspaper for a sales position and Matheason applied. Now, 20 years later, he has become a part of Culligan history.

Wallace's Water Conditioning services roughly 15,536 single-family homes in Emmet, Palo Alto, and Kossuth Counties. Matheason works with residents and businesses to install quality water softeners.

Most recently, Matheason, Skip Wallace, and their wives traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to receive the Hall of Fame award. There were nine other honorees that achieved 25,000 lifetime points within the past year.

"Out of the 10 recipients, there was only one person that got the 25,000 points sooner than Andy, and he was from the Austin, TX area," commented Wallace.

As part of his award, Matheason received a trophy and a blue blazer.

Over the course of his career, Matheason has strived to provide excellent customer service. He is available to his customers whenever they need him. He takes pride in spending time with each person to determine his or her particular need, and to find the most cost effective softener solution.
