The Palo Alto Gun Club will have trap shooting league starting Wednesday, May 31 and will continue Wednesday nights for nine weeks, with the last league shoot on July 26. The first three weeks will be shooting from the 16-yard line to establish the team handicap. The next three weeks the teams will shoot from their handicap yardage, and the final 3 weeks will be as international trap from the 17-yard line. This format will allow participants to shoot ahead for upcoming weeks for scheduling conflicts, or back to make up missed league nights. Shooting will start around 5 pm. Five-member squads are encouraged to come to the Palo Alto Gun Club located at the Sportsman Recreation Area north of Cylinder and sign-up on the first night, May 31. If you don't have a complete squad, or would like to participate, come on the 31st as squads will be formed that night. Participation cost for this year's league will be $100, which includes target fees, gun club membership, and awards night picnic cookout to be held on Monday, July 31 for all league shooters.

The Palo Alto Gun Club reminds all residents who use the gun club trap range, rifle ranges, or pistol range for recreational shooting that membership in the Club is required. Annual single memberships and family memberships are payable to the Palo Alto Gun Club. Membership payments can be sent to Don Bruch, Gun Club president, at 3488 490th Ave., Emmetsburg, IA 50536. Please include address, a phone number, and email to enable correspondence. Contact Don Bruch at 712-298-3240 with questions.
