Lady E-Hawks, Titan Boys Earn County Golf Titles

GRAETTINGER - On a blustery Friday afternoon, the Emmetsburg Lady E-Hawks and the Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire boys claimed the top spots in the yearly Palo Alto County Golf Meet. This year's meet was played at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Graettinger.

Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawks repeated as the champions in the girls division, defeating Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire 195-245.

Emmetsburg's Allison Freeman claimed the meet Medalist honors with a round of 40, while teammate Sarah Pugh would card a round of 50 to finish as runner-up medalist.

For Emmetsburg, Freeman's 40' was low score and followed by Pugh's round of 50. Gretchen Hofstad would card a round of 51, while Parker Traub shot a 54. Molly McCain shot a 57 and Gillian Nolan rounded out the scoring with a round of 59.

For the Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Titan girls, Hailey Derrickson led the effort with a round of 56. Annika Akridge would shoot a 62, while Mackenzie DePyper carded a round of 63. Lauren Josephson shot a round of 64, while Madison Petersen shot a 70 and Kristen Torreson carded a round of 74.

The boys portion of the meet would be much tighter, as Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire edged the Emmetsburg E-Hawks by one stroke, 166-167, to take the top honors, while West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate carded a round of 234.

Emmetsburg's Hunter McAllister would earn Meet Medalist Honors after winning a playoff over teammate Jace Carlson, as both E-Hawks turned in rounds of 40.

Calvin Hart would follow with a round of 43, while Gerard Ruiz shot a round of 44. Matt Kibbie would shoot a round of 47 and Adam Berkland rounded out the effort with a 50.

The Titans of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire were led by Tyson Kruse and Treyton Cacek, as they both shot rounds of 41. Josh Petrich and Noah Flaherty would both turn in scores of 42 each, while Brady Olson and Brady Rosacker both shot rounds of 45 each.

The Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Glmore City-Bradgate would be led by Cole Hoskins as he shot a 56. Nick Ford followed with a round of 57, while Mason Studer carded a 60. Bryce Schany would shoot a 61, while Michael Auten turned in a round of 62 and Noah Fehr added a round of 68 to the final tally for West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate.
