Hot Shots Have Solid Outing At Rock Valley

ROCK?VALLEY?- Members of the Emmetsburg Hot Shots Scholastic Trap Shooting Team travelled to Rock Valley on Saturday, April 22 for competition and shot well in the final standings.

In the Rookies' division, the Hot Shots placed fourth with 125 points, four points behind the winners.

Members of the Rookie team on Saturday were Tate Joyce, Garret Franker, Bryce Rooney, Nate Adams and Austin Stokes.

Garret Franker tied for fourth individually with 34 out of 50; Tate Joyce tied for eighth with 32 out of 50. The winning shooter hit 39 of 50 targets and there were 51 Rookie competitors.

The Intermediate Entry-level team finished fifth with 140 points. Team members were Carson Hoffman, Bre Henricksen, Dallas Clark and Esben Enriquez and shot with just four on the team. The winning team of five members shot 182.

Carson Hoffman was seventh with 40 of 50; Bre was 12th with 37 of 50 and the top score in the division was 48, with 61 Intermediates shooting on Saturday.

The Intermediate, Advanced team earned second place with 191 points, 13 behind the winning 204 total.

Members of the squad were Matt Berkland, Donald Strohman, Jacob Frields, Aurora Peters and Aaron Olson.

Donald Strohman and Jacob Frields ended up in a six-way tie for sixth place with 42 of 50 targets each. The winner shot 42 and the field featured 50 competitors.

Gavin Jorgenson shot independently and was first in the Senior JV class with 45 of 50 birds out of 50 shooters.

There was no varsity team, but Tom Crocoll finished in a six-way tie for sixth with 43 of 50 and Brennan Duhn finished in a six-way tie for 16th place with 42 of 50. The winner shot 49 in a field of 49 competitors.
