E-Hawk Thinclads Fourth At Godfredsen/Elliott Relays

ARMSTRONG - Emmetsburg's E-Hawk boys track and field squad earned a fourth place finish in the team standings at Monday's Godfredsen/Elliott Relays in Armstrong.

The E-Hawks were paced by Grant Deitering as he won the 200 meter dash with a time of :23.37, with teammate Aaron Hutchison finishing second in the 200 with a :24.01 clocking.

Cruz Bowman would also earn an individual title in the 1600 meter run with his first place time of 4:56.04 and followed it up with second place in the 3200 meter run in a time of 10:39.18.

Zach Foxhoven would earn second place in the high jump by clearing 5'10" and AJ?Krieg placed second in the long jump with a leap of 10'8".

Emmetsburg also earned relay wins in the 4x100 and the 4x200 relays as the quartet of Aaron Hutchison, Brent Wesley, Blake VerMulm and Grant Deitering took first in the 4x100 with a :45.54 effort and won the 4x200 relay in a time of 1:33.95.

The E-Hawk Distance Medley Relay of AJ?Krieg, Carson Clark, Zach Yates and Dawson Carlson earned a second place finish with their time of 4:10.75.

Other finishes for the E-Hawk thinclads included Jacob Myers with a fifth place effort in the discus from a throw of 122'4" and a ninth place effort from Kyle Licht off his throw of 97'9".

Nick Schany placed fifth in the shot put, throwing 39'6" and Max Dunlap threw 37'3" to earn a ninth place finish in the event. Zach Yates would finish in a tie for seventh in the high jump, clearing 5'2".

The E-Hawks' Sprint Medley relay, comprised of Aaron Hutchison, Carson Clark, Brent Wesley and Blake VerMulm turned in a time of 1:44.09 to finish in fifth place, while the 4x400 relay squad of Carson Clark, Jacob Myers, Zach Foxhoven and Dalton Connelly placed sixth in 4:02.76, while the 4x800 relay quartet of Adam Deitering, Bret Hoyman, Bradley Wirtz and Dalton Connelly finished sixth in 9:50.51.

Grant Deitering would finish sixth in the 100 meter dash in a time of :11.72 and Brent Wesley was tenth with a :12.00 clocking. Dawson Carlson earned a seventh place finish in the 1600 meter run with his 5:19.98 time and Dalton Connelly earned seventh in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing in 1:06.58.

Zach Foxhoven earned an eighth place finish in the 400 meter dash in :57.59, while Adam Deitering was eighth in the 800 meter run in 2:225.82. Bradley Wirtz finished tenth in the 800 meter run in 2:26.55 and Bret Hoyman rounded out the efforts with an 11th place finish in the 400 meter dash in 1:05.22.

The E-Hawk thinclads will travel to Pocahontas this Friday with action starting at 4:30 p.m.
