Quad City Arts Festival of Trees Holiday Parade, Davenport, Nov. 21:

Experience the largest helium-balloon parade in the Midwest. Live marching bands, balloons towering over three stories tall, clowns, floats and more. Aferwards, visit the RiverCenter in downtown Davenport along the parade route and enjoy the Quad City Arts Festival of Trees.

Discovery Days: Hogwarts Science Academy, Waterloo, Nov. 27-28:

Experience the science behind the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Activities include making your own wand during Defense Against the Dark Arts, exploring the stars during Astronomy, digging into the importance of soil in Herbology and creating chemical reactions during Potions.

Julefest, Elk Horn, Nov. 27-28:

For 37 years, this magical festival has warmed hearts and provided a way to celebrate all things Danish. Enjoy traditional Danish food and tasty treats, search for unique presents and decorations at gift shops and craft fairs and enjoy festive music.

Bridges of Madison County - The Broadway Musical, Des Moines, Nov. 28-Dec. 5:

The Bridges of Madison County, one of the most romantic stories ever written, first captured the nation's attention as a best-selling novel and is now an irresistible, two time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical. The Bridges of Madison County is the third Broadway musical to launch its national tour in Des Moines. State Fair (1995) and the revival of The Music Man (2001) both also started their national tours in Des Moines.
