HUMBOLDT - Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawks earned a 1-4 mark at Saturday's Humboldt Tournament in their first action of the season.
Emmetsburg lost to South Central Calhoun by game scores of 6-21 and 9-21, but rallied to defeat Ogden by scores of 21-15 and 30-28.
Against Humboldt, the Lady E-Hawks fell by scores of 6-21 and 18-2 and against Spirit Lake, Emmetsburg fell by 15-21 and 8-21 margins before being edged by West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate by scores of 15-21 and 19-21.
For Emmetsburg, Bailey Naig made 33 of 44 hits with 11 kills and assisted on three blocks with one solo block and three digs.
Taylor Knight made 32 of 41 hits with 10 kills and connected on 16 of 22 serves with two aces and dug out 12 shots while assisting on three blocks and handing out one assist.
Kayla Joyce added 17 of 24 hits with seven aces and added three assisted blocks, three digs and one assist to the effort.
Helena Fantz made 13 of 17 hits with two kills and assisted on one block with two digs and two assists.
Kate Jackson made 13 of 14 hits with two kills, and connected on 17 of 19 serves with two aces, while digging five shots and making one assist.
Michaela Rehm added nine of 10 hits with two kills and made 20 of 22 serves with three aces, while digging out 14 shots and making one assist. Katie Ruiz came away with seven of 10 hits and three digs with two assists.
Sarah Pugh would made one hit for a kill and had 15 of 17 serves while handing out 13 assists and digging out three shots.
Parker Traub made seven hits with three aces and two of four serves while blocking one shot. Sarah Simington made 24 of 27 serves with two aces and dug out five shots and added 10 assists and Cierra McAllister added two of three hits and 20 of 21 serves with one ace while adding 10 digs to the effort.
