The West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate Lady Wolverines are 2-4 in matches after their first week of play.
WBM/GCB opened their campaign against East Sac on Thursday and lost 3-0 by game scores of 10-25, 12-25 and 6-25.
Next action came on Saturday when the Lady Wolverines made the trip to Humboldt to play in the Humboldt Tournament and ended up with a 2-3 mark on the day.
Against South Central Calhoun, WBM/GCB lost by scores of 14-21 and 9-21.
The Lady Wolverines would then play Ogden, and earned a match win with a 12-13 tally, but lost the second game 18-21 but came back to win 15-9.
Spirit Lake would be the next foe, and the Lady Wolverines fell by scores of 12-21 and 14-21.
WBM/GCB would earn their second win of the day taking on Emmetsburg as they won both games by scores of 21-15 and 21-19.
In the finale, the Lady Wolverines played Humboldt but came up short in scores of 9-21 and 13-21.
For the Lady Wolverines, Rachel Wirtz led the way on offense with 16 kills. From the service line Anna Zaugg made 31 of 33 with five aces. Abby Zaugg connected on 28 of 31 hits with n ace. LaRae Knobloch went 27 of 30 and dropped in four aces. and also led the team with 23 digs, while Rachel Wirtz dug out 21 shots.
Taylor Fogarty recorded six blocks during the tournament and Lauren Link would hand out a total of 26 assists to her teammates on the day.
