NORTHWOOD - The season got off on an upbeat note for Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire's Titans Friday night as they handed Northwood-Kensett a 32-6 defeat.
Despite a rainy night that made hanging onto the football tough and the footing even more treacherous, Michael Girres would lead the Titans in their season opening contest as he put together scoring runs of 75 yards, two yards and 35 yards in the first two quarters and then added a one yard run in the third frame and a 20 yard jaunt in the final period of play to ice the win for Coach Todd Hough and GT/RA.
With his scoring effort, Michael Girres would end up with 218 rushing yards off 29 carries, while Mason McGrauth added 87 yards of rushing from his 15 carries. Marcus Girres would add eight rushes to the effort to tally 24 yards for the Titans.

As a team, GT/RA racked up 359 rushing yards, and lost four yards on their lone passing attempt on the enight.
The Titan defense also played well in the effort, as Tyler Hoffman would make 13 tackles on the night, while Alex Hoffman added nine stops. Ryan Jacks tallied a quarterback sack for the Titans, as the purple defense limited the seventh-ranked team in Eight-Man football to just 211 total yards of offense in the contest.
