Scrimmages To Give Fans A Preview Of Upcoming Seasons

With school back in session, thoughts in the area are turning towards the various Fall sports seasons at area high schools.

Fans of the local high schools in Palo Alto County will get to preview the 2015 Fall Sports seasons this Friday evening.

E-Hawk Preview

At Emmetsburg High School, the annual Scrimmages for the Emmetsburg athletic squads are set for Friday night, and as in past years, the admission to the scrimmages is a bottle of sports drink per person.

The evening will start at 4:30 p.m. with the annual E-Hawk Football Barbeque in the high school student center. Serving will continue through 6:00 p.m.

Coach Tim Rodemeyer, along with Assistant Coaches Jessica Bieber and Anny Fiene and the Lady E-Hawk volleyball squads will scrimmage from 6 to 6:30 in the high school gym with introduction of players to follow.

At 6:30 p.m., the annual parents, athletes and coaches meeting will take place in the auditorium. Activities Director Joe Carter will address some general topics and Emmetsburg High School/Middle School Principal Mike Embrock and Assistant Principal Tracie Christenson will discuss the district's Eligibility and Good Conduct policies.

At 7 p.m. football players and their parents will meet in the auditorium with the football coaching staff, while high school volleyball players and parents will meet in the library. Middle school volleyball players and parents will meet in the Middle School gym, while the cross country athletes and their parents will meet in the high school band room and the cheerleaders will meet in the high school vocal music room.

At 7:40 p.m., the activity moves to Duane Twait Field where Coach Valerie Pickett and the Emmetsburg Cross Country squad members will be introduced to the public.

The football scrimmages will then kick off with the Freshman scrimmage at 7:45 p.m. with a 12-minute quarter of scrimmage play to take place.

At 8 p.m., the Sophomore Scrimmage will take place with a single 12-minute quarter of scrimmage play.

At the conclusion of the Sophomore scrimmage, the Freshmen and Sophomore football players, along with the cheerleading squads, will be introduced.

At 8:35 p.m. the E-Hawk varsity players will be introduced to the fans and will then play two-12-minute quarters in the annual Black and White Scrimmage at 8:45 p.m.

GT/RA?Titans Preview

Graettinger-Terril/ Ruthven-Ayrshire will unveil the 2014 edition of the Titans' football team, under the leadership of Coach Todd Hough, with a controlled scrimmage at the Ruthven-Ayrshire Football Field starting at 7 p.m. The GT/RA?Volleyball Team, under the direction of Coach John Fulton, will also scrimmage on Friday, starting at 5 p.m. in the Ruthven-Ayrshire gym.

The RA?Booster Club will also serve a free-will offering meal at the Ruthven football field at the end of the volleyball scrimmage and Parent Meeting.

Wolverines Opener

For Coach Pete Kapustynski and the Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gil-more City-Bradgate, their scrimmage will take place in West Bend on Friday night starting at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Wolverine Volleyball team, under the direction of Coach John Johnson, will scrimmage in the Mallard gym at 4:30 and the WBM Booster Club supper will be served at the shelter house starting at 5:30 p.m.
