Farm Credit Services of America made a donation to Upper Des Moines Opportunity last week as part of their community involvement endeavor, the food and hunger and youth initiative. The gift of money will be used to purchase school supplies, including backpacks and crayons. Pictured (from the left) are Farm Credit Services financial officer Kevin Kirchhoff, customer service coordinators Danita O’Leary and Ruth Twaiten, and Peg Martini from Upper Des Moines, accepting the check from FSA vice president Ron Eichmeier. “This is our way of giving back to the community,” said Eichmeier.
FSA’s food and hunger and youth initiative also includes grants to be awarded in Emmetsburg’s seven-county service area. Non-profits in Palo Alto, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Humboldt, Kossuth and Pocahontas Counties are eligible to apply. For information about the grant process, contact Stacy Bohl at Farm Credit Services. --Jane Whitmore photo
