Emmetsburg News
EDGEWATER BBQ -- Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member Edgewater BBQ with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Chamber Coffee last Friday. Pictured with the ribbon (from the left) are Chamber Director Deb Hite, Gen Scott, Esben and Alli Enriquez, Ramona Thompson, Erica and Paul Thompson, and (at right)?Chamber President Dan McCain. Edgewater BBQ got its beginning as a food truck four years ago. The Thompsons opened at the corner of Main and Grand in March. The business got its name from a town in Maryland (Edgewater) where Erika worked in a barbecue restaurant and Paul had always wanted a restaurant. Paul Thompson and Cody Soenen did all of the wood working, giving the building a rustic, farm feel. The new Emmetsburg business features brisket and pulled pork, with daily specials. Edgewater BBQ is open Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. They also do catering for big or small events. The Thompsons are very appreciative of all of the community support Edgewater BBQ has received. --Jane Whitmore photo
